Mynydd Du Forest

I inadvertently ended up hiking through Mynydd Du forest last weekend (14/15th Oct). We were supposed to be going to walk up the Sugarloaf but we got lost on the way and ended up on in this place instead. I turned out to be really good though as there was some pretty dense fog that day, this coupled with the forest made for some very eerie scenes. I was hoping to be able to capture this mood; I think this one conveys that feeling the best out of the ones I took here:



The walk throught the forest was a good change from the usual hikes we go on and with the fog the way it was we wouldn't have been able to see much from your average Welsh mountain.



The last stop on the hike was at Grwyne Fawr reservoir and dam, a very impressive structure that seemed to just pop out of the landscape in what was a very unpopulated area.
